Perfectly sums up the life of a trucker. At least I get to see mine every weekend.....but he's lonely now that he has something to come home to. Maybe someday he can work close by.
JoJo, It is a hard life. I would rather have him home but a person doesn't get paid to stay home and the bills don't stop coming. He has been coming home every 2 weeks all summer and I love it. It has been so much better. Thank you for stopping by and for your kind comments! ♥
Pat, my husband really likes it. I can't really imagine him doing anything else. Still he likes to come home. He has known drivers who live out of their truck and have no home to go too. They just stay out there and to me that is no life at all. Thank you for stopping by and for your comments! ♥
Must be a tough lifestyle for the whole family to adapt to. You expressed it so well. I often wonder about those truckers I hear in the night heading by on the nearby highway. Must be lonely for them.
Cathy, I don't know how he does it. I couldn't do it if the roles were reversed. It has to be lonely for him. Sometimes he will call me up and talk forever. I know he is as lonely for all of us as we are for him. Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
Oh, yes, that longing for home! Did I ever tell you, Kathy, that our bass player, Rob, is a professional truck driver? He's done it for years and years, and still seems to love it. Blessings to you and thanks for this beautiful haiku! (Oh, gosh, that rhymed, didn't it?)
Shailaja, it is my reality and the picture is one of my husband's truck that he took while on the road. Not sure how I do it, but I do it. Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
haiku-horizons-challenge-drive, it varies. Before this summer he was staying out 4-6 weeks. This summer he has been coming home every 2 weeks which is loads better. Thank you so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
