Light Extinguished
Christa giggled
constantly, her presence brightened a room.
Afraid of nothing, she attacked
life with a zeal others envied.
Then one
day she changed drastically. Terrified of
every shadow, tears replaced giggles.
She withdrew. The light extinguished,
the scars remain. Darkness prevails.
Oh, how sad, Kathy, but engagingly written! Blessings!

DeleteKinda reminds me of my ex husband when he descended into mental illness in the late 90s. He went from the life of the party to a bipolar mess.
