A voracious canine shadow harasses as I position steaming vegetable dishes around a platter of succulent turkey.
Add fine china, gleaming crystal, flatware and
starched linens:
utter perfection!
Doorbell
chimes.
I hurry to welcome.
Unnatural silence.
Perfection transforms to devastation.
Aah! Can relate to this story bog time!! Our dogs at the farm did just that. And that was one, when a friend had come to stay for the night. Imagine, the entire dinner was gobbled up by the brats!

DeleteI've never had a dog steal the meal, but the kitties do try on occasion. I can't blame them because I've smelled their food, haha!
ReplyDeletejannatwrites, I have had both cats and dogs do that and you are right, compared to what they have to eat...there simply is no comparison! Thanks so much for stopping in and for your sweet comments! ♥
