Finding Inner Peace

In the midst of turmoil and fear, when life is at its lowest point I find inner peace through prayer.  When push comes to shove I reach for my bible for it holds all the answers of the universe within its pages.

I retreat into a book.  I write.  I create.  I knit.  I crochet.  Sometimes I take a walk into the silence.  Sometimes I crank my favorite music and within the melodies and rollicking rhythms I find peace.  Other times I write allowing the words to flow from my fingertips as quickly as my mind can formulate them.  My words make sense of it all even when they ramble and make little sense at all in context.

Although having those you hold most dear close in times of turmoil helps for moral support,   I believe true inner peace comes from within and from faith, hope, and trust in G0d.

  1. Amen!! I am totally with you on this. Faith is what gets us through the tough times. The blogging helps me too--having the outlet to express my self is great. Not only do we need to have faith in God but also faith in ourselves.

    1. Menopausal Mama, well said. It is kind of ironic to me that when I really was going through the worst times of my life all I had was my faith and determination. I never wrote back then and never would have thought I could or that it would help. LOL Thank you for stopping in and for your kind comments! ♥

  3. I agree too. And I keep experimenting with different forms of prayer. The one I rely on these days is the unspoken; trusting in God that his is just here and already knows. Do you know about the daily Bible challenge? I downloaded it but haven't started it yet; afraid that I might fail:)

    1. Sandra, I haven't heard of the daily Bible challenge. I do a lot of the unspoken and trusting God. Thank you for stopping in and for your kind comments!

  4. Since I'm an atheist, I obtain inner peace from going for a walk, esp. on a beach, crafting, music & just sitting and relaxing in the house or reading on the deck if it's not too hot or cold.

  5. Great post! I do a lot of the same things when I need to find peace. I retreat to my stamp studio and create, or just play with my paints etc. I then spend time thinking, reflecting, and sometimes praying. I know saying my rosary is something that brings me such peace as well.

    1. Winnie, You do such beautiful things in your stamp studio! It is obvious to anyone who sees your work that you get so much enjoyment and happiness out of what you do. Thank you for stopping in and for your kind comments! ♥
