During the 2012 season, Brian Kelly led his Fighting Irish of Notre Dame football team all the way to the championship game against the Alabama Crimson Tide. That amazing season was marked by a YouTube “Fire Up” video with pictures of their journey accompanied by a song that I will associate with fall and Notre Dame Football forever after.
While
contemplating the music that most reminds me of fall, “War of Change” performed
by Thousand Foot Krutch instantly came to mind.
After all with the trees adorning the majestic colors of fall, preparing
for their ultimate descent, and the oncoming winter, the song’s lyrics and
driving forceful beat are the epitome of the season change that transforms the
world outside from summer greens to the rich red, orange, and gold of fall, to
the bared branches of winter, to the ultimate rebirth of spring. The song captures the sizzle and vibrancy of
fall and brings the season to life for me.
After all, life is all about change.
Nothing ever stays the same.

Never knew it was associated with it, not a bad tune either.
ReplyDeletePat, officially it is not. It is just a song that I personally associate with it. Thank you so much for stopping in and for your kind comments! ♥
DeleteFun to listen to the song and read your reflections on it, Kathy. Yes, we certainly do associate certain music to certain times and seasons. I wrote a post like that recently about how a piece by a Quebec group brings me back to my time living in Montreal in the 1980s. It's so personal to our own experience.

DeleteEverything is about to change, whether we wish it or like it. Personally, I like autumn, when, in their death throws, the leaves radiate glory and light in their vibrant colors. Reminds me that one day, I'd like to go out with a bang, not a whimper! :) May we treasure each and every day as the seasons pass.
ReplyDeleteLove and blessings, Kathy!
Martha, I love autumn too! Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing with your kind comments! ♥

DeleteWhat an energizing burst of colours in your post, Kathy. I love Autumn for this reason. Never see such pretty colours any other time of the year.
ReplyDeleteShailaja, One of my favorite things about autumn is the lovely color. Thank you so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteAutumn is indeed colorful.. Fills life with happiness... Indeed best change that can happen is about the happiness and colors of life

DeleteYou know what I associate with Notre Dame games? The "Power" commercial for Northwestern Mutual. The music is incredible and it only airs during Notre Dame games. It reminds me of my last fall in Washington State so I tend to get very teary eyed when I hear it because I can still see how the fall light looked in my family room, and the tall fir trees in our front yard, the giant yellow leaves from the neighbours maple trees falling in the back yard....and not even realizing that in less than a year I wouldn't be there anymore.
ReplyDeleteJoJo, oh that is sad. Still you have your amazing memories! Thank you for stopping by and for your kind comments! ♥
DeleteWhat a great song Kathy...Everything changes in life and when fall comes I feel the change starts being visible..I don't know about others but I love that feeling

DeleteMy father-in-law had a saying that usually made you stop and think -- "One thing is for sure -- if it doesn't change, it will stay the same!" LOL
ReplyDeleteCarol, He was right! LOL Love it! Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comments!
