The Sounds of Autumn

There is nothing like sliding in at the last minute!  As of yesterday I decided to take the NaBloPoMo challenge and blog every day through the month of October!

My favorite sounds of Autumn include the crackle of a bonfire, the sounds of the Concord Marching Minutemen practicing at the high school, and the roar of an enthusiastic crowd cheering on the home team on the nights the football team plays.   Of course it wouldn’t be autumn without the enthusiastic screaming and cheering on Saturday afternoons that can be heard at my house while we watch the Notre Dame Football game.   It simply wouldn’t be Autumn without the enthusiastic chants of “Here come the Irish” followed by the exuberant strands of the fight song blaring after every Irish score.

You can feel the excitement in the air.  It is electric.  You can almost hear the sizzle!  Football, fight songs, and cheering crowds…it is what Autumn is all about!

  2. I love fall too!!!!! I don't get to see much college football....Russell doesn't like football and he's only home a couple days a week so I forego the college games so he can watch what he wants. Plus I rarely get to see the UW Huskies out here.

    1. JoJo, too bad you can't convert him! The only football I watch is Notre Dame football although since my daughter is working the concession stand at the junior high school she goes to I have caught a football game and a soccer game this fall. Notre Dame football is non negotiable at my house. You either watch it and cheer for the Irish or you leave the room and do your own thing, but you never interrupt the football game or even THINK of watching anything else. LOL Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥

    1. Michelle, I can't imagine living in a place with no fall! Lots of heat would mean never taking down the swimming pool and that would be A-OK to me too although I think I would eventually get tired of the sweaty teddy weather every day without fail. Thank you for stopping by and for your kind comments! ♥

    1. jannatwrites, I only watch the Irish games and when I can I catch one of the games at my daughter's junior high. There is something electric about attending a game in person! I love the bonfires and crisp mornings...and the leaves! Thank you so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
