Written
today for the NaBloPoMoprompt: “What does it feel like to fall in love?”
What does it feel like to fall hopelessly
and madly in love? How does it happen
and when? When the time is right and all
the planets align fate takes its course.
It is destiny. Two people meet. Immediately, there is a physically mutual
attraction which is pure chemistry. You
look into each other’s eyes and sparks fly.
Your pulse speeds up. You finish
each other’s sentences. You understand
each other on a deeply spiritual level.
You feel happy whenever you are together and as if something is missing
when you are not together. You laugh at
each other’s silly jokes and seem to connect on every single level.
Your heart pines for that person when you
are apart and rejoices when you see them or hear their voice again. You always have something to say to each other
and you realize as time passes that you never want to be without that person
because without them you are nothing.
That person completes you like no other ever has. You are at peace. You are over the moon. Nothing else is as important as being with
that person. It is as if all the light
goes out of the world when they are not at your side and the sun, moon, stars
and all lights in the world illuminate when you are together. Even better, not only does that dear soul
care deeply what happens to you they want nothing more than to have you be the
last thing they see before they shut their eyes at night and the first thing
that they see when they wake up in the morning.
You feel safe when you are together.
Before long you wonder how you ever lived
without that person in your life and you realize that without them, nothing
else matters. Before you even know what has hit, you fall
in love and life is never quite the same again.
You feel euphoric, as if you have won a million dollars, like dancing, kicking
up your heels, and laughing yourself silly.
It is when sparks fly, love ignites, anything is possible, and nothing
will ever be quite the same again. You
just know!
The
powers that be at NaBloPoMowonder “Can you easily connect with your feelings
and understand where they come from?”
Well yes, without a doubt. I
think I am pretty in tune with my feelings.
I can get in touch with my sensitive side if need be. If I am pissed, I know it. Usually most everyone around me knows it
too. There is usually no mystery
there. If I am sad or depressed, that is
pretty obvious too. Pretty much what you
see is what you get.
I am
not one of those folks that need to pay someone to sort the feelings out for
me. If I am jealous, I know it. If I am amused, I know that too. Do I understand where those feelings come
from? Well sure, I usually have my
reasons for all those feelings. Do I
understand why I tend to prefer my own company instead of rolling along with a
group? No, I don’t but after 45 years in
this skin, I have accepted that it is just one of my many quirks.
Whenever I feel bat shit crazy I chalk that up to those pre-menopausal
hormones that according to my doctor are already starting to rage. While I don’t
want to think I am old enough to have to cope with such things, my all-knowing
doctor assures me I am. That is right up there with the well-meaning advice
that I need to lose some weight and exercise more. I wouldn’t think it would take a rocket
science mentality to figure it out as long as you are pretty in tune with
yourself. Unfortunately I have found
that wisdom comes with time and experience so you tend to have more of a clue
the older you get.
