A Warning Laced with Love

Mom‘s were put on this earth to worry about their kids.  “Be careful!” my mother warned over the years for countless reasons.  I almost always took her advice.  When I didn’t, I learned the hard way.   I would walk instead of run.  I would be careful what I wished for, because I might not really want that wish if I ever truly obtained it.  That lesson was a little harder to learn.   When my children arrived I began warning them to be careful.  I protect them. I want them to be safe.  “Be careful!” is a warning laced with love.

  1. Great post!!! My Mom always warned me about every thing. I always try to be careful every time I have to go out. That is what Good Mothers, do. Hugs to you for being a great Mom.

    1. Mary, thank you! I think it comes second nature or with the double dose of hormones you get during pregnancy. After surviving the hell of pregnancy and childbirth, you just do everything in your power to worry and keep the little darlings safe! Thank you for stopping by and for your kind comments! ♥

    1. JoJo, you are so lucky to still have your mom around to warn you to be careful. I can about imagine what she had to say about that! Can't say I blame her. The world is an evil place and anything can happen. Thank you for stopping by and for your kind comments! ♥

  3. I feel kids are too careful now because they don't go off on bikes and explore and get scrapes like we did. A little cut with my 9 year old is pure drama.

    1. st, back in the day you didn't hear so much about child molesters, child abductors, and rapists. People didn't worry and felt comfortable in their neighborhoods. The world has become a scary place. Thank you for stopping by and for your kind comments! ♥

  4. Loved it, Kathy. So true although as kids we don't like the words 'Be careful' as we grow older we realize the love behind it.
