7 Points At a Time

I am taking part in “The Write Tribe Festival of Words 1st to 7th September 2013".

On a crisp autumn Saturday afternoon, there is only one focus at my house.  As soon as the game starts, all eyes are on the television.  The volume is raised.  We wear our blue and gold with pride and the excitement level is at a fever pitch.

The fighting Irish of Notre Dame take the field to thunderous cheers.  We cheer the Irish watching each play down the field celebrating each first down, arguing every bad referee’s call.

Touchdown Notre Dame!  We jump up and down in jubilation.  The fight song is played. The kick is up and it is good.  Seven points light up the scoreboard.  The crowd goes wild!  I go wild screaming myself hoarse.  No matter the year or how old I get, it’s tradition and always will be.  Go Irish!  Seven points at a time onward to victory.

  1. Tonight is Michigan too....I love this annual matchup because I love the Irish but I also know a few people who went to Michigan, like my former boss.

  2. Well, I'd love to tell you things will be different...but U of M is still U of M and those Wolverines seem to love beating up the Irish.

Hoping for a good back and forth game for your pleasure, but gotta say hoping for the Big Blue Machine to walk off Victors!

GO BLUE! Sorry, but this is Michigan and I do still love you 💙💛

    1. Jo, I would be surprised if you didn't root for Michigan since you are from there. No one is perfect Jo. LOL The Notre Dame/Michigan game is always a good one and I am sure both teams will bring their A games playing to win. We will wait and see. Thank you for stopping in and putting in your 2 cents. ♥

    1. Rainbow Hues, I know!! Going to a live sporting event is such a rush. I love watching the Irish on TV and honestly Notre Dame football is the only sport I watch. Now that my daughter is in the 7th grade, I have went to a junior high football game and was surprised how good it was and how much fun I had. Thank you for stopping by and for your kind comments! ♥

  9. Nice way to round up the post. Here in NZ that same scenario plays each time the kiwis play a rugby match. 7 points lighting up is a whoo-hoo moment. My kids think I'm crazy when I'm yelling away at the TV.

  11. There was a time when I was crazy about cricket and Tennis. I have moved on to better pastures, I guess. Though husband is passionate about watching games on telly so much so that he would watch an old match as if he was watching it for the first time.
