Here I find myself a couple posts short of the “Write Tribe Festival of Words.” I am always a few sandwiches short of a picnic, but I usually keep up with the blogging express train on the most part. Let’s just remedy that!
On Day 2 we were to spotlight some gems
that we have located here in the blogosphere that always keep us coming back
for more. You know the blogs. Their authors sparkle just a little more and
whenever they post you simply radiate with joy and glee in your hurry to visit
them and read their very latest news or stories. While there are many blogs that fit into the
above mentioned category, the ones I am to spotlight below have crossed my
radar and become must reads recently. I
honestly read too many to mention here and enjoy them all but to mention every
single one would take forever! In no particular order…my picks are:
- “Meditations of My Heart” authored by Martha Orlando. Martha has a wonderful knack of taking the most mundane occurrences in life and discovering life lessons, inspiration, and definite proof that not only is the Lord alive, but that He is active in your everyday life. If you seek, you will find. Her stories are heartwarming and always leave me with a smile upon my face.
- “Tahoma Beadworks and Photography”authored by JoJo. JoJo often shared the most gorgeous photography and snippets of her crafting tries and fails. Believe me when I say she has more successes. She makes the most beautiful crafts and I am blown away by the sheer creativity that oozes out of this lady. She rocks!
- “JannaT Writes” authored by JannaT. JannaT is a very gifted writer. Not only am I completely captivated by her mind blowing stories, I love to read about her everyday family life which she also shares. Her blog boasts many winning badges for her work from the folks at trifecta and Speakeasy which proves simply how amazing she is. Not everyone is blessed with those kinds of accolades! Bottom line, she is utterly amazing!
- “Den of the Beastly Bear” by Joseph Ormerod. Although Joe hasn’t been on the blogging scene long, he is a quick rising star. I love his candid stories about his everyday life. The guy is completely hilarious!
- “Vidya Sury” by Vidya Sury. I love this lady and her blog! I love going to her home in the blogosphere most because I always leave with a silly smile plastered on my face. Her words simply have that effect. Her writing and stories are simply delightful and I am addicted!
The last several days have been a whirlwind at my house. My husband has been home and we have jam packed in enough living for a month! It is always that way. I hope I live to see a day when he can be home with me every single day so we can simply just be together! Yesterday we painted our living room red and I love it! We have reorganized all of the rooms and installed more storage which effectively has killed the proverbial clutter bug. We had intended to also paint the kitchen a lovely orange but we hadn’t anticipated how much work or how exhausting painting could be. It isn’t just throwing a little paint on the wall and calling it good. The kind lady who helped us at our local Lowe’s Home Improvement insured there was a hell of a lot more to it than that to do it right. We were both reminded that we aren’t as young as we used to be as we moved furniture, masked around windows and trim with frog tape, slapped on primer, painted, and painted some more. Getting up and down got a little harder and squirreling my body into a squatting position for longer than 10 seconds quickly became torture. Tomorrow he will return to work. While he sleeps, I attempt to board the Write Tribe’s Festival of Words express train and get back into the swing as best I can!
Written for Day 2 and 3 of the Write Tribe Festival of Words 3.

Thank you so much for mentioning my little blog as a 'must read'!!!!!! That was so sweet of you and brought tears to my eyes to be included! :D
ReplyDeleteAs for home improvement, it is a lot of work isn't it??? Russell keeps talking about buying a fixer upper and I want a house that's move-in ready. I said, 'you get off the road and barely move out of your chair on your two days off. You mean to tell me you would be willing to spend all your down time putting up drywall, painting and plumbing? I can't even motivate you to do an errand with me! You're almost 52, I'm almost 50....are you insane?" lol
JoJo, we had not changed a thing in the house since we moved in which has been quite a while living with white walls. All of a sudden a bee flew up my ass and I decided I want color and lots of it!! LOL I already had forest green curtains in the living room so the addition of the red looks pretty good. 2 walls are now red and the other we left the dark wood paneling they were. I picked an orange color for the kitchen, and I have red curtains out there. I love red. Thought about painting hall a mustard yellow maybe and the bedrooms in dark colors. So lots of painting to be done in the future as well. It really livens the place up. Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteHa ha, Kathy, I loved reading this - both your pieces - and what a great expression - "The blogger express train" I felt the same - busy, but also so much fun! We sure don't want to be left on the station:-) You recommend many blogs that I don't know, so will have a look for sure, and I am amazed by your tale for today --- would love to see those colorful rooms!! I enjoyed it, thank you:-)
ReplyDeleteEli, LOL Sometimes a person can keep up with that express train and sometimes life steps in and you just can't no matter how you try. It is like the universe is simply against it. Perhaps I will have to share some pictures. I sure love my red walls! Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteThank you so much for the mention and all the compliments about my blog/writing! I really appreciate you taking time to read and comment as often as you do. Especially with painting - that IS hard work! And red... that is a tough color. We did an accent wall in "Merlot" - a deep, wine-colored red. After the first coat, I about panicked because it looked awful. It took four coats before all the splotches filled in and it looked pretty *whew*! Hope you get some rest after the painting workout!
ReplyDeletejannatwrites, and thank you for inspiring me with you wonderful writing. I can only aspire to ever be as good as you. We will paint the kitchen the next time my husband comes home. Looking forward to seeing the pale orange in there! Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥

shellymona, thank you so much for stopping by! I am so pleased you enjoyed my post.
DeleteI love hearing recommendations of other blogs to follow. I'll have to stop by and visit the ones mentioned above.
ReplyDeleteI cant wait to see your orange kitchen!!! Thats my favorite color and once i have a house, there WILL be an orange wall somewhere in some room.
holli, I am looking forward to the orange kitchen too. It is going to be a bit more tricky to paint than the living room was but will be amazing when it is done! We have had the same white walls since we moved in. Thank you so much for stopping by and for your lovely comments. It was nice to see you here! ♥
DeleteWow...a busy time....hope you'll get some time out
ReplyDeleteMichelle, it is always busy when my husband is home and the time always goes entirely too fast. It always takes me a good day or two to detox and mourn his departure before I can get back into the swing of things. It is almost like I shut down emotionally and creatively when he goes back on the road...and then I finally get my mojo back. We always stay up late and are up early and it seems at first all I do is sleep. Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comments!n ♥
DeleteWow, you managed to wrap both the days in one, great!
ReplyDeletePlus the list f bloggers you have highlighted is great. Good going with the catching up Kathy :)
myriadrainbowhues, thanks for the praise...but now I am behind again with little hope of catching up...which is Okay. I am so pleased you enjoyed my post. ♥
DeleteSuch lovely blogs you have mentioned! I haven't read them but yes, I will now for sure!!
ReplyDeleteYour living room is red! Wow! I would love to have red walls!! unfortunately we live in a rented apartment and cant paint the walls!
The Lowe's and Home Depot guys are always helpful aren't they? :)
pixie, they are now! We have 2 walls that are a medium dark paneling which we kept the same but the other two walls are deliciously red. We had a lady help us and she really seemed to know her stuff. Hooked us up with everything we would need and plenty of advice. I am really thankful for that advice because we painted one coat of primer, and one coat of the red and we were done. It looks amazing. I LOVE it! ♥ Thank you so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteKathy, again your words are too kind! Many thanks for mentioning me in your blog!!!
ReplyDeleteWe once decidded to paint our white with avocado crosshatching Paneled kitchen a bright, sunny yellow!
Three applications of "Kilz" color hiding primer and 7 coats of yellow paint later, if the sun coming in the window was just right you could still see the lines of the old crosshatching! I KNEW in my heart I should have done a coat of flat black first...lol
Joe, you are very welcome! Sounds like a painting nightmare to me! It sounds like it took you forever to get that lovely yellow right! Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteI love how you've intelligently clubbed your posts Kathy :) I want to see the picture of the Red wall...bold and beautiful! So like you! :)
ReplyDeleteAditi, I am so pleased you liked it! Thanks so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteLove the way you manage to make the most of what comes your way Kathy :) Redecorating your home must have been very fulfilling experience.
ReplyDeleteReshma, it was tiring!!! LOL I have learned if I haven't got it creatively it is better to wait till I do and not force it. It has been a rough week. Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteU should show us the pictures of your beautiful red wall! Would you also wish your husband a ver happy journey from all of us at WT!
ReplyDeleteMina, I posted a picture of my new red walls on my face book wall. Thank you so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteI love the way you share your experiences. :)
ReplyDeletepayal, I am so pleased you enjoyed it! Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteGreat minds think alike! I showcased Martha's blog as well. I love Vidya's Coffee with Mi - it's a very endearing blog. Your painting made me tired, but I hope you got it all done.
ReplyDeleteSuzy, Martha and Vidya are both special ladies and their blogs are jewels because you always take something special away from their place in the blogosphere. Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
