We Danced

This piece was written for the 55 Fiction writing prompt at Write Tribe.

He stood chatting with his friends across the dance floor.  There was no way he knew she was even alive.  She looked away for only a moment.   Disappointment gripped her.  He was gone!   Fingers brushed her shoulder.   Surprised, she whirled around to face him.  He held his hand out to her shyly and they danced.

    1. Suzy, I had memories of school dances too but unfortunately my memories of those dances never turned out this well. The boys didn't know I was alive, and if they did I am pretty sure they thought I was annoying or a nice friend. LOL Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥

    1. Winnie, Wow!! Thank you for the amazing compliment! I am a relative newbie at writing fiction and I have never wrote a story with so few of words. This was a first, but with all the favorable comments I am stoked to write some more. Thank you for stopping by and for your lovely comments! ♥

  7. Reminded me of my high school dances too, except they never knew I was alive. Never. And the one boy that liked me never went to the school dances!

    1. Me, I don't think you are alone on that one! Everyone seems to love a happy ending where I even love a story with a sad ending. Guess I am weird that way but I kind of look at it as making the story a little more authentic...because really not everything ends happily. Thank you for stopping by and for your kind comments!
