Screwed and Tattooed
Tourney time
at the bowling alley with my mates and I was having a top night. Beer flowed freely, the laughs contagious. No one’s laughing now. Our fate: a never
ending night, unbelievably cold, and the slow, inevitable death of everything
everywhere.
Haunting . . . Makes me wonder what happened?
ReplyDeleteMartha, the whole idea of this particular writing challenge is to answer the question "where were you when the Earth stopped turning?" I answered the question and took it a step further by stating what ultimately happened when the Earth ceased to turn one cold winter night. The sun was never seen again, and it never got warmer, therefore plant life never recovered, eventually animals died out, and then as the food supply diminished therefore then did the population. Kind of a bleak fate, but that is what I visualized happening. It probably would take a while, true...but that is what I had in mind. The end of Earth as we know it. On the other end of the spectrum I imagine the side of the Earth that never knew night, would eventually bake...the water dry up and life cease to exist without it too. Thanks for stopping by and for your kind comments! ♥
Deleteha! How do you do it?! Every single time!

DeleteIt would be very scary to be in the middle of such an event. I always wondered if the buildings would rise with us?

DeleteYes, don't keep us in suspense Kathy...what happened? Or perhaps we may NOT want to know? Is that why you didn't tell us? ;) <3
ReplyDeleteelly, IF you actually read it you would have found that I kind of did tell you. Thanks for stopping by and for your comments! ♥
DeleteShocking and brutal ending to what started out as a fun evening. Everyone is curious to know what happened. Guess you'll have to write a sequel.
ReplyDeleteCathy, well I very rarely write sequels. Once the writing prompt is over...it is over. LOL Thanks for stopping by and for your kind comments! ♥
DeleteLoving the way you brought in the dichotomy of before and after, Kathy. Laughs and beer before and silence afterwards. The middle- that's where it happened.
ReplyDeleteShailaja, YES!!! Exactly!! Standing ovation for you for actually getting it!!! YAY! Thanks for stopping by and for your lovely comments! ♥
DeleteOf all the places to have it all end... a bowling alley. Huh.
ReplyDeletekymm, Ha!! That is where it all began. They didn't figure out what the score was until much later. Then I am sure they had CNN on it with the latest breaking bulletins as the news teams struggled to figure out just what the hell was going on. Thanks for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteI really enjoyed this one Kathy.
ReplyDeletetnkerr, I am so pleased!!! Thanks so much for stopping by to read and for your sweet comments! They honestly made my day. There may be hope for me yet! ♥
