Betrayal

A vision in white, my bride glides towards me to the triumphant strain of Mendelssohn's march.

“I can’t marry you.”

Horrified.

"I’m pregnant with your brother’s baby.”

Enraged.

 My fists connect,

flowers fly,

and the best man is down for the count.

  2. Well, at least she told the truth before the wedding. How traumatic for the groom! Great scene, Kathy. :)

    1. Debbie, it was the first scene that came to mind when I thought of the question "Why did hell break loose?" The story more or less wrote itself. I am so pleased you liked it! Thanks so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥

    1. Pat, I agree. Of course, he is better off without her. She is obviously a complete slut if she was fooling around with his brother while engaged to him. Thanks so much for stopping by to read my story. I am so pleased you liked it! ♥

  4. Yep, that would be reason for all Hell to break loose.
I'd say he dodged a bullet though! ;-)

    1. Joe, I would say you are right and that he is actually lucky she decided to spill the beans before she married him even if it was on the altar. At least he found out before he was stuck with her. Thanks so much for stopping by to read, comment, and share! I am so pleased you liked my story! ♥

    1. TMW, yeah it kind of does. Just when you think life is perfect, all hell breaks loose and what you thought was perfect explodes in your face. Life can change on a dime. Thanks for stopping by to read and for your comments! ♥

  9. Couldn't the bride-to-be announce the 'good news' earlier? Horrified he will be. Poor guy.
