Silence.
Except for
the tap, tapping, of my keyboard
and dog snores.

Suddenly all hell breaks
loose, dogs scrambling to the front window barking, growling, howling.
I peer
outside.
Nothing stirring.
Perplexed.
What the hell?
"SHUT UP!"
Probably just a mouse fart.
hahaha! Kathy, it is quite possible! They do have sharp ears that can detect a mouse fart! :-) Or even snore!

DeleteOMG Mine do that too and they give me heart failure with the loud barking. And yet the UPS driver parks, walks up the gravel driveway with the heavy box of dog food & leaves it on the deck, and not a peep from either of them.

DeleteNo one will sneak up on you at least. My dogs probably would be shaking behind me if the boogeyman broke in. I mean what kind of beast can take all that trash talk and come on in. I like the mouse fart suggestion.

DeleteThis happens a minimum of once a day at my house, and often many more times. You would think the farting mice (in our case chipmunks) would have found a different yard to live in!
