  6. That's really cool! I don't have a clue how to knit. I guess I knew at one time, but I never made anything that amounted to anything.

    1. Joyce, I taught myself how to knit and crochet by following the how to instructions in a book. I by far prefer crocheting over knitting. I am better at it. Thank you for stopping by to read and for your kind comments. ♥

  9. Beautiful! I enjoy crocheting, but haven't used yarn in quite some time. I prefer the thread used for doilies. I only kept one afghan and I have one that is not finished yet. It has been not finished for the past 20 years or so... LOL I started a doily recently, but haven't gotten very far yet. My biggest achievement was a crocheted table cloth from an antique pattern. It was beautiful. I gave it to my fav aunt. She died about 20 years ago and I have often wondered what happened to the tablecloth. The grandson who inherited the house/contents died last year. It took hours and hours to crochet a tablecloth! I've wished many times that I had never given it away! :-(

    1. Darlene, you could always make another one!! I have made many afghans and given them away as gifts only to wish about a few that I had kept them. This one is all mine. Love the colors and can't wait to cuddle up on the couch with it. Thank you for stopping by to read and for your comments! ♥

    2. No... I can't do it again. It took so long to make. It was for a round table and it hung long. It was BIG! By the time I was done, I was sick of it! If I ever do another big piece, it will be a bed spread. One of my Aunts crocheted a bedspread and it is beautiful. She changes up the look by using different colored blankets underneath the spread. The colors show through....so pretty. Very elegant looking. But, I'm not sure I can stand doing another big piece... I probably can't tear myself away from my computer and my Kindle long enough to do anything like that again. LOL

    3. Darlene, I know how that goes. I have been working on this particular afghan forever. I am usually not in the mood to crochet during the summer months. Once the weather turns cold I get in the mood because I can burrow underneath it. Like you I am online more than I am not. LOL The tablecloth sounds gorgeous!! ♥

    1. Weissdorn, thank you! I taught myself to do both from looking at a book and lots of practice. I am so pleased you enjoyed seeing the afghan I am creating. Thank you for stopping by and for your kind comments. ♥

  11. That certainly is beautiful Kathy! My Mother was always crocheting but I wasn't good at it, I pulled the stitches too tightly.

Fortunately we have a wonderful friend who has made a few crocheted afghans/throws for us. We use them when we watch TV or movies in the living room. Even in the summer running the A/C, it's a little chilly for us when we're sitting still.

    1. Betty, I taught myself when I was about 8 or 9 and have been crocheting away ever since. Last year I taught my daughter to crochet and she took a potholder to the county fair. This year she learned how to make a granny square and took an afghan. It makes me happy that I could teach her something. Thank you for stopping by to check out my photos and for your comments. ♥

  12. Nice, Kathy! Your little Boston can hardly wait 'till it's done, so she can snuggle beneath it! My Bostons love to go under the covers! Nice work.
