Finding the Joy

NaBloPoMo December 2014
This month I am making December a little more joyful with NaBloPoMo!

Today's question is:
What do you do when you're down to bring yourself a little joy?

When I am down, I tend to find myself some comfort food, crank my tunes on Spotify to full blast, and lose myself in my artwork.   I find my Zen in art, music, and food.

I have always been soothed by music.  After my mom died I would play the piano for hours, playing every single piece of music I possessed.   My soul is soothed by music, my heart filled with unbridled joy, which ultimately results in the unleashing of boundless creativity.

  2. I always found solace in music and while I still listen to it in the car, when I'm home I just want peace and quiet. I don't even turn the TV on till way late in the day (unless I leave it on for the dogs).

    1. Pat, sometimes writing works, sometimes it doesn't. I get more peace from my music and my art. I worry too much about whether my writing is good to truly enjoy it completely. Thank you so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥

  9. Like you, Kathy, I love music, but have found in the last several years that I treasure the quiet and silence even more. Maybe it's because I write best when there are no distractions around me. Glad music lifts your spirits, my friend! Blessings!

  11. Tea soothes my soul - preferably earl grey. Music or better yet singing or even chanting. However, if I am really down, I don't have the desire to sing! ;)
Thanks for reminding me of Pharrell Williams as I blogged about him and added the same video to this blog post: http://xpressyouressence.blogspot.ca/2014/09/world-gratitude-day-part-2.html <3

    1. Inderpreet, I taught myself to play the piano when I was younger. Because of that my folks left me my mom's piano when she died. Unfortunately when we moved we were unable to bring it with us. I have a keyboard on my Christmas wish list this year and am hoping to get back to playing again. Thank you so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥

  14. I always wished I could play piano. Listening to tunes can turn a sad mood happy, as long as we pick the right music :)
