This month I am making December a little more joyful with NaBloPoMo! |
Today's question is:
What do you do when you're down to bring yourself a little joy?
When I am down, I tend to find myself some comfort food,
crank my tunes on Spotify to full blast, and lose myself in my artwork. I find my Zen in art, music, and food.
I have always been soothed by music. After my mom died I would play the piano for hours, playing every single piece of music I possessed. My soul is soothed by music, my heart filled with unbridled joy, which ultimately results in the unleashing of boundless creativity.

I am glad that you find your solace in music, Kathy. So do I . And in my books. Stay blessed and happy, my friend :)
ReplyDeleteShailaja, Thanks so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteI always found solace in music and while I still listen to it in the car, when I'm home I just want peace and quiet. I don't even turn the TV on till way late in the day (unless I leave it on for the dogs).
ReplyDeleteJoJo, I usually have music in the background and usually at full blast. LOL Thanks so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteMusic can sure bring much peace indeed, writing works for me.
ReplyDeletePat, sometimes writing works, sometimes it doesn't. I get more peace from my music and my art. I worry too much about whether my writing is good to truly enjoy it completely. Thank you so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteMy escape options are: food, tv sitcom reruns and my pet beagle Snoopy... works more often than not
ReplyDeleteRoshan, I love that! I can just picture you completely content with your beagle at your side with munchies and your TV. Awesome! Thanks so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteMusic is indeed a soothing influence. Everyone has their own way of finding joy, mine is reading.
ReplyDeleteKiran, I love to read too but lately I simply can't concentrate that long to really get into a good book. Thanks for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteI hope you continue to enjoy your music, Kathy. It is such fun, and such good company.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and Bear hugs!
Rob-bear, it surely is and I am so happy when I am listening to it or singing along with it. ♥ Thank you so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteEnjoy things you love. And find happiness in that!
ReplyDeleteHugs! <3
Sheethal, I will and I do! Thank you so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteGo find your zen - music is the foundation of the soul -- enjoy
ReplyDeleteGlen, I will. Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteLike you, Kathy, I love music, but have found in the last several years that I treasure the quiet and silence even more. Maybe it's because I write best when there are no distractions around me. Glad music lifts your spirits, my friend! Blessings!
ReplyDeleteMartha, you know...I have my days when I welcome silence too. Thank you so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteMusic is magical.. It can bring you, bring you down, rock you to sleep or make you jump up n' down and do a happy dance. I happy it gives you comfort. - Love Pharrell and this song. :)
ReplyDeleteMimi, I love music and you are right...it does all those things! Thanks so much for stopping in and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteTea soothes my soul - preferably earl grey. Music or better yet singing or even chanting. However, if I am really down, I don't have the desire to sing! ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for reminding me of Pharrell Williams as I blogged about him and added the same video to this blog post: http://xpressyouressence.blogspot.ca/2014/09/world-gratitude-day-part-2.html <3
elly, I am so pleased you enjoyed it! Thanks for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteMusic has this affect on all of us I think..I always feel so much better when I work with the music on...It's very calming I have to say :)
ReplyDeleteNabanita, to me there is nothing better! Thank you so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteMusic is so pure and the piano is so beautiful. Just to know that music is there to soothe us.
ReplyDeleteI would love to learn the piano.....seems magical when it is played.
Inderpreet, I taught myself to play the piano when I was younger. Because of that my folks left me my mom's piano when she died. Unfortunately when we moved we were unable to bring it with us. I have a keyboard on my Christmas wish list this year and am hoping to get back to playing again. Thank you so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteI always wished I could play piano. Listening to tunes can turn a sad mood happy, as long as we pick the right music :)
ReplyDeletejannatwrites, it is never too late to learn! I taught myself so I am living proof it can be done! Thanks so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteIt's music and reading for me! Stay blessed, Kathy! ♥
ReplyDeleteShilpa, we have a lot in common! Thanks so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
