The Diamond

I transferred another stitch over, looked again… gasping. My diamond! Disappeared from its setting!

I stood quickly, threw aside my knitting searching, panic ripping me to my core. Frustrated tears flowed.

Hidden within the plush carpet, my diamond twinkled mockingly.  Thank God!

    1. cynk, I came close once. I took a ring off to wash my hands and it flew right down the drain. I panicked and had the neighbor man come over and take the sink apart...there was my ring in the elbow! I can not tell you how relieved I was! Thanks so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥

  10. Yep, I've lost my ring, too (and had it returned!). I like how you begin with the ordinary, soothing motion of knitting before panic strikes.

  13. I have felt this panic before! It's a horrible feeling, but such sweet relief when we find what we're looking for. (This happened with a necklace my kids got me for Mother's Day... the clasp had come loose and the engraved heart slid off the chain while I was on a women's retreat. I retraced my steps and sifted through pine needles and finally found it... it had dropped into my overnight bag!)

    1. Shilpa, what a blessed surprise that must have been. I thanked God a million times when I looked down and spied mine in my lap. I took it and the setting to the jewelers and they reset it and fixed it good as new. So glad I did find it! Thanks for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
