What’s in a Name?

This post was written in response to the Writer's Post Blog Hop hosted by Suzy at Someday Somewhere.

When I first started writing online back in 2009 I was affiliated with a website company that has since gone out of business.  In the beginning they chose to name the site they designed “The Trucker’s Wife.”  When they went out of business and I lost access and the ability to update that site I created this one.

At that time I   titled the new site  “Giggling Trucker’s Wife” because I still was a trucker’s wife but I showed a little of me in that title.  I have the ability to giggle myself silly about just about anything.  I am a perky, happy little thing to say the least especially since I seen the big 4-0 come and go.

Not too long ago the name of my blog transformed once again.  I went through a blue period much like Picasso and my writing reflected it.  I no longer felt like spouting silly witticisms off the top of my head.  I wanted to write fiction of all things and the occasional haiku and no longer thought the name of my blog fit.  So one day I added “writes” to the title and the blog transformed to its current form.  I changed the blog description since the focus of my writing has changed to the more creative sphere which takes the microscope off of me personally which I like much better at this point in my life.

  1. I like the new look, which I've already told you and the new name feels like evolution. You have evolved and grow anchor "name" simply reflects that. Nice.

There are times when I have to step away and take a break, then there are times when I don't have the money to keep the internet on and I drop out a bit till I get it paid. I always come back to it as soon as I can. Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥

  4. Gosh, I didn't notice the addition of Writes. I always think of you as a writer, so it must have slipped my attention. Your fiction stories are fabulous and I enjoy your poems and your personal stories. I am glad you are stressing our writing as it is fabulous.

    1. Suzy, I agree with you. It does open it up a bit. Thank you for stopping by and for your comments. It allows me to expand and kind of tells folks "hey this story is fiction, and not about me particularly! " ♥

  6. I always liked the name of your blog from the first time that I visited it... And I guess with every passing year as we as individuals evolve , what we feel and thinks also evolves which you showed wonderfully by the changes in your blog's name...

    1. Nabanita, you are so kind. I went through a blue period and didn't have a giggle in my writing anymore, so I decided that I needed to branch out or quit. So I branched out and added the writes. Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥

  7. Well, I got drawn to your blog even before WT simply because the word 'giggling' features in the title. It has that positive tinge to the title...and then I got drawn to your haiku and your stories. They are non complex (I won't say simple!) and connect with me....I like it here...the blog oozes with warmth and positivity :)

    1. myriadrainbowhues, I am so pleased you enjoy my writing. I am pretty straight forward and my writing pretty easy to follow. It flows when I write it and that carries over when you read it. Not sure I would know how to do it any other way. Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
