Henry had
been dead for six months. During his sickness, the house bustled filled
to overflowing with her family and friends.
Since the funeral they had stopped coming, leaving her alone and
forgotten. They went back to their
lives. It was as it should be. She prayed for a reunion that only death
could guarantee.

ReplyDeletesulekkha, I don't care how old I would be, if my husband ever dies...I will wither away and die. I can not imagine life without him. I would be like my dad, pining for my true love and death. I just know it! Thank you for stopping by to read and for your sweet comments! I am so pleased you enjoyed my story! ♥

DeleteWonderful write, Kathy. I can feel the emotions the widow has. Maybe some of the mourners stayed away even when the husband was alive, but only turned up for the funeral, out of respect. Who knows why she waits for death. Loneliness can nibble away at the minds of people.
ReplyDeleteMichelle, it surely can. Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comments. I am so happy you enjoyed my story! ♥
DeleteA sad reality. In the end you have to deal with your grief on your own.

DeleteHello there. Death befalls us all due to inherited sin from Adam. (Romans 5:12) It's a normal , human reaction to be sad and grieve. However, Jehovah God has promised us a time in the coming future when our loved ones will be resurrected from the dead, there'll be no more sickness, no more pain and no more death. Imagine the prospect of seeing your loved ones again and then NEVER dying! (John 5:29, 29; Acts 24:15; Revelation 21:3-5)
