She was at a
crossroads. All of her friends were
getting married and having babies.
Although she really wanted to have a family one day, she wanted to
experience life first. She chose the
road less traveled filled with promise and adventure.
This week's question for yeah write's #162 gargleblaster challenge is "Which way to go?" We were to write our response to that question in precisely 42 words.

hmm the life "filled with promise and adventure" actually is the life with children-- for me. but i'm an older mom so maybe that's why?
ReplyDeleteotherthanlovie, I am an older mom too and I understand where you are coming from. There can be promise and adventure anywhere you look. Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteI feel like you're in my head. This is exactly how I feel right now. All my friends are either married, have kids or seriously involved with someone. I have a life to live before I get to that point.
ReplyDeletewritingreallifetofiction, then by all means you should do it. Live life to the hilt before you take the plunge and tie yourself down with a husband and kids! When you are ready, fate will comply and everything will fall into place. Thank you so much for stopping in and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteI first read it as, "road to travel." Guess that's where my head is!
ReplyDeleteJennifer, HA HA! Thank you so much for stopping by and for the giggles you left behind! ♥
DeleteHere's to amazing solo experiences! :)
ReplyDeleteJen, and to great memories!! Thank you so much for stopping by to read my virgin attempt at the gargleblaster! Hoping to learn great things from all you pros on how this is done. Thank you for your comments! ♥
DeleteI love traveling, esp. solo!!!!! "Life is a highway, I wanna ride it all night long!" Of course till I read the lyrics I thought he was singing, 'I wanna ride it on my own". lol
ReplyDeleteJoJo, I love that song!! I never used to like being alone much. Then fate stepped in and I was forced to be alone and you know what? I discovered I was pretty damn happy in my own company! Give me loud music or a good book, or better yet my art to create...and I am in bliss. Thank you so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteYou have made your forty two words v interesting Lyssa M x
ReplyDeleteLyssa, I am so pleased you liked my virginal attempt at the gargleblaster! There is always hope that with lots of practice I will improve! Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteThere's nothing wrong if you're single. A few of my friends rushed into marriage and now regret that. Divorces, miserable lives that still dream of achieving goals. I'm happy in my single mom status.
ReplyDeleteMichelle, I think it depends on the individual. The idea of happiness is different for different people. Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteSo true--although take it from someone who knows--if you wait too long, it'll be too late. It all works out how it's supposed to, though.
ReplyDeleteStephanie, very true. No matter what things end up just as they should. Thank you so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteGreat choice!
ReplyDeletekymm, I am so pleased you liked it. Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteThe best road to take is the one your heart wants to explore...It may not be what the world approves of, but you owe it to yourself.
ReplyDeleteReshma, very true! Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteExploring is the way to go, more fun that way. Then can have a whole other kind of fun later on
ReplyDeletePat, I agree!! Thank you so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteIt really depends on what you consider fun :) Maybe having babies is a different kind of fun, right?
ReplyDeleteShailaja, well there is that. I remember the getting pregnant being fun, the being pregnant being miserable, and the c-section being painful...but the resulting baby...bliss! Thank you so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteMay you have great adventures.
ReplyDeleteRobbie, thank you so much for stopping by to read and for your kind comments! ♥
DeleteThose wild oats need to be down. Nice work!
ReplyDeleteTMV, very true! Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteGood to follow one's heart rather than everyone else's lead. (I didn't have my first child until I was nearly 30, so I can relate to the not wanting to rush into things!) Friends our age have kids graduating high school... makes me feel old :)
ReplyDeletejannatwrites, I know just how you feel! I had my daughter when I was 32 and my son at 37. When I took my son to story time at the library people assumed I was his Grandma! I just wanted to slap the hell out of them! lol Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comments!
DeleteBest to do what makes one happy:-)Loved that she chose the path less travelled:-)
ReplyDeleteAtreyee, very true! I had to figure that one out on my own. Fortunately my kids will benefit from my wisdom because I intend to share with the class to help them along if I can. Of course, there are some things in life you must experience for yourself and learn the hard way so I will be there to support them in that respect too. Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comments!
DeleteThis sounds like the start to a great adventure story! Thanks so much for linking it up.
ReplyDeleteChristine, it could very well be. Thank you so much for stopping by and for your comments! It was my first ever attempt at a gargleblaster. I am looking forward to learning great things from all the talented writers in the community and trying my hand at it again! Thank you so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments!
DeleteHehe :) Appreciate her way of seeing life :) I was like her too...but my family made sure that I got married :P
ReplyDeleteSreeja, somehow that doesn't seem fair although I know that is common practices where you live. Thank you so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments!
DeleteNo easy choices in life; but I agree. Once those family responsibilities kick in, it never stops. Not the worst thing but it is nice to know you had some freedom.
ReplyDeleteAnn, very true of the family responsibilities. Life changes when babies come along. Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
