Panicked, she looked in my direction and gave
me a slight nod. Filled instantly with
excitement and understanding, I quickly gathered my things and we left as the
rest of the group continued to work, unfazed by our quick and quiet departure.

Boy who hasn't been tempted to do that!! lol
ReplyDeleteJoJo, I know I have been not only tempted but actually have escaped! Thank you for stopping in and for your kind comments. I am pleased you enjoyed my gargleblaster. ♥

DeleteI like it! Now here have they gone? Enjoyed
ReplyDeleteAlly
Ally, that is the question! While I was writing this I was visualizing that the lady was heavily pregnant and she signaled to her husband that the baby was coming. Unfortunately... I didn't manage to convey that with the 42 words I chose. Still, it came out pretty well. Everyone feels like escaping every now and again.
DeleteJust pick up and go, works for my show
ReplyDeletePat, I am so pleased you enjoyed it. Thank you for stopping by and for your kind comments! ♥
DeleteWhere'd they go? Where did they go?!?!
ReplyDeleteApril, one thing is certain..they got out of Dodge and escaped. While writing this I envisioned the lady was pregnant and signaled her husband that it was time to have the baby. While this was all going on in my brain...I wrote the above. I see now none of that is apparent by the words I chose, but hey...42 words it didn't turn out half bad even though in the end they simply chose to escape. Thank you for stopping by and for your kind comments! ♥
DeleteSo curious! What are they going to do?!
ReplyDeleteLaurel, that is wide open to the imagination.. obviously get out of Dodge and blow that popsicle stand! Thank you for stopping by and for your kind comments! ♥
DeleteA quiet exit is usually best for all concerned.
ReplyDeletechamblee54, agreed! Thank you for stopping by and for your comments! ♥
DeleteHoping they were off to do something fun ;p that's the way I read it anyway!

DeleteI am curious like Laurel :D Why did they escape exactly ;)
ReplyDeleteSwathi, if I had been given more words to work with you would have discovered that they escaped because the lady's water had broken and her baby was on the way. They were making a quick dash to the hospital. Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteReminds me of the college days when we' d bunk lectures ;-) Nice take on the prompt!
ReplyDeleteUma, I think everyone has done that at one point or another! HA HA Thank you so much for stopping by and for your kind comments! ♥

DeleteI love how you've given us a little piece and let the rest of the story build based on the reader's experience!
ReplyDeleteCrossknit, I am so pleased you liked it. Until I read your comment I wondered if I should have done a better ending. I feel a bit better about it now. Thank you for stopping by and for your kind words of encouragement! ♥
DeleteAt first, I thought they were just leaving work early -- and then I saw your tags. As a non-mom, I'm so clueless about childbirth. D'oh. Thoughtful take on the prompt, Kathy, as always!
ReplyDeleteMeg, OMG...of everyone...you were the only one that knew where my brain was going!!! Three cheers for your brilliance. Technically I am pretty clueless also even though I have 2 kids. I had 2 c-sections. :D Wouldn't know where to begin with the whole natural huff and puff ordeal. HA HA. Thank you so much for stopping by and simply making my day by being the only person that gets me...and got the story!
