It's Time!

Panicked, she looked in my direction and gave me a slight nod.  Filled instantly with excitement and understanding, I quickly gathered my things and we left as the rest of the group continued to work, unfazed by our quick and quiet departure.

    1. Ally, that is the question! While I was writing this I was visualizing that the lady was heavily pregnant and she signaled to her husband that the baby was coming. Unfortunately... I didn't manage to convey that with the 42 words I chose. Still, it came out pretty well. Everyone feels like escaping every now and again.

    1. April, one thing is certain..they got out of Dodge and escaped. While writing this I envisioned the lady was pregnant and signaled her husband that it was time to have the baby. While this was all going on in my brain...I wrote the above. I see now none of that is apparent by the words I chose, but hey...42 words it didn't turn out half bad even though in the end they simply chose to escape. Thank you for stopping by and for your kind comments! ♥

    1. Swathi, if I had been given more words to work with you would have discovered that they escaped because the lady's water had broken and her baby was on the way. They were making a quick dash to the hospital. Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥

  13. I could almost hear the "let's blow this Popsicle stand!" leave her lips.

Gosh I hope they were just playing hookey on a beautiful day for no reason other than the sun was shining.

    Nice work :)

  23. At first, I thought they were just leaving work early -- and then I saw your tags. As a non-mom, I'm so clueless about childbirth. D'oh. Thoughtful take on the prompt, Kathy, as always!

    1. Meg, OMG...of everyone...you were the only one that knew where my brain was going!!! Three cheers for your brilliance. Technically I am pretty clueless also even though I have 2 kids. I had 2 c-sections. :D Wouldn't know where to begin with the whole natural huff and puff ordeal. HA HA. Thank you so much for stopping by and simply making my day by being the only person that gets me...and got the story!
