Tasty Tuesday: Spanish Sirloin

3 lbs sirloin steak
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 large onion, sliced
1 large tomato, sliced
1/2 tsp garlic powder or 3 cloves garlic minced
2 TBSP chopped parsley

Cut steak into portions.  Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.  Add steak. Cook, turning once, until steak is browned on both sides, about 5 minutes per side.

Add garlic, onion, tomato, and parsley to skillet.  Cook, stirring frequently, until onion is golden brown, about 10 minutes.  Reduce heat to medium low. Cook until steak is tender, about 10 minutes longer.  Bon Appetit!

  4. Oh, Kathy, this is a great recipe for steak when you can't get to grill outdoors!!! I use a cast iron skillet and some oregano --- I'm all for Italian with lots of garlic and oregano!

Of course, I really enjoy your Tasty Tuesday and getting to read all the other recipes posted here. Maybe in a couple of weeks I'll be adding things on Tuesdays. You're inspiring me.
