N is for Now

Right now, my husband is home watching John Deere You Tube movies on his android phone.  I have never understood why he gets such a charge out of watching them, but he does.  What is laughable is that he thinks I might give a rat’s a$$ enough to watch them too.

Right now my favorite singing group is Nickelback.  I love their music and like nothing better than to hear their music blaring from my CD player.  I like about every song they perform.  If I had to pick a favorite off their latest CD “Here and Now” it would be “Lullaby”.   I love the song and the video!

Right now my husband says that one of the tires on my blazer is pregnant.  Can tires be pregnant??  They can’t have $ex.  He went to trade school and got an associates degree in auto mechanics so I think he thinks himself quite the brilliant intellectual when he throws out terms like that.  All I know is there is a bubble on the tire and according to him it is there because of me.  Evidently I got a little to close to the wooden railroad ties that line one side of our driveway.  All I know is I am pleading the 5th, and my story is that it wasn’t me.  It probably was, but it is just entirely beyond the point!!  The bottom line is that I need to get a new tire, and unless I want to be alongside the road trying to figure out how to change tires I will have to drive the truck.

Right now my kids are at school so it is the perfect time to be creative and write my contribution for the letter N.  Except for the sounds of the rumbling of John Deere tractors and idiots carrying on about them punctuated by my husband’s giggles and helpful comments to the stars of said You Tube videos, the house is as quiet as it usually is when he is on the road.  The dryer can be heard running and yowling cats in heat can be heard from the other end of the house.

Right now my head is pounding and my allergies are raging.  Since I am allergic to everything but cockroaches, spring is usually rough for me.  I take my Benedryl and headache pills and walk around in a daze.  Eventually as the season goes on I will become more immune to the Benedryl and it won’t make me so tired.  As it is, my head feels as big as my living room and my nose keeps running full speed down my face.  Right now, I wish the medicine would take hold and kick in!!

Right now I am still 43, but before long I will be 44.  I won’t think about that now.  I won’t think about how OLD I am getting. Like Scarlett O’ Hara from “Gone with the Wind”, I will think about that tomorrow until next time when I give you another glimpse into the life of a trucker’s wife.

    1. Jenn, I hadn't heard of that either. Here I thought only females got pregnant. Maybe there are female tires. LOLOLOLOLOL LMAO!! When I read this post to him he got all wild trying to justify using pregnant as an adjective with tires, that was just too funny. LOL I get where he is coming from...I think. LMAO Actually, I was rambling for the letter N and pulling anything out there that might work for the GBE2 topic "NOW". LOL Now, he sleeps. Ha! Thank you for stopping by to read and for your comments!!

    1. Beachlover, men are strange creatures and can come up with some really wild things!! LOL Fortunately I am just a few sandwiches short and have a few to throw out there to counter the oddness that he comes with. We compliment each other well and usually end up laughing our a$$es off at each other. Like when he was banging on about the pregnant tire. LOLOLOLOL Allergies are no fun and they plague me till the snows fall again. This spring has been rough so far. I sure hope it gets a little better. It is killing me, and then I write about pregnant tires. All I can say is I am on medication!!! LOL Thank you for stopping by to read and for your comments!

  3. Oh man, I would have been close enough to touch 2 of the guys from Nickleback if I hadn't gone and ruptured a tendon in my calf right before Thanksgiving. They played the halftime show at the Detroit Lions game and I was supposed to be in "the mosh pit" until my booboo during dress rehearsal. Dammit! The guitarist is definite eye-candy!
Hope your allergies get better soon!

  5. Now - sounds like quite a bit going on. I have actually had pregnant tires, though, more usual, FLAT tires.

Loved the Nickeback video, even if it made me misty.

    1. The Writing Goddess, that is the reason my husband was giving me holy hell because pregnant tires can easily turn into flat tires. I loved this video. It is so GOOD, and sad all at the same time. I can't get enough of this song and could listen to it over and over! Thank you for stopping by to read and for your comments!

  6. Too cute, pregnant tires. IT does give the feeling that there is something bulging though, actually (thinks a moment) he's male... so the pregnant thing might be an attempt to put it in female terms, in which case he deserves a couple of kudos... and another when he fixes the tire ;-)

    1. November Rain, hmmm well I will give him a few kudos if that was intention. LOLOLOL I have to wait until we get paid again and then go buy a new tire. By that time he will be back on the road and I will have to pay a complete stranger to do it. Such is the life. :D Thanks for stopping by to read and for your comments.

  8. Aren't pregnant tires illegal? I'm sure they are here (in the UK).
And 43 going on 44? You're a spring chicken compared to me!

    1. Paula, I don't think they are here. Not sure about that. At any rate, I won't be driving that vehicle until it is fixed. Some days I don't feel very spring. On days like today I feel more like the chicken. :P Thanks for stopping by to read and for your comments!!

  10. You have a lot going on right now! Our house has become quiet too, but it's because the kids have moved out. :( That's when you know you're old--not at 43 or 44. You're young!

    1. Just the every day around here. I actually thought today was kind of slow in the excitement area. Usually it is a 3 ring circus around here. With my kids 6 and 11, I don't believe they will be packing their little bags anytime soon. Some days you just feel old, you know? Thanks for stopping by to read and for your kind comments.

  18. I love Nickleback! I got to see them in concert a few years ago. Best. Concert. EVER. I sang every song, and left barely able to speak. I had a huge smile on my face the whole time. Totally could have died happy. I'm behind on my music though, hadn't even heard they had an album out! That's what I get for living in the middle of nowhere I guess. lol That video totally made me cry. But I am going to have to get that album.
