For the 11th day of NaBloPoMo and the UltimateBlogging Challenge I am stepping out of my comfort zone and attempting my first
ever haiku for the Write Tribe’s Wednesday Prompt. So here goes nothing!!
Carpet of yellow
Cherished and gifted by youth
Outcasts shunned by man
Kathy I loved it .. the picture and also the words you wrote .. a very good attempt :) :)
ReplyDeleteSukupedia, I am so thrilled you liked it! I had never written a haiku before and really was a little nervous putting this up. Thank you for stopping by and for your kind comments! ♥
DeleteI love it. Of course I love dandelions - get rid of the grass, give me a field of yellow dandelions.
ReplyDeleteKate, now see...I am with you. I think a thick carpeted field of yellow blooms is really pretty. Still I see so many people who only see them as weeds. Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥
DeleteI love Dandelions :) I even put them in my book on Weeds and their uses.
ReplyDeleteLinda, How cool! My grandma and grandpa used to eat them too. Not sure I would go that far, but I do think they are pretty. Thank you for stopping by and for your kind comments! ♥
DeleteGood job on poem.
ReplyDeleteHard to believe it's your first.
Hooray for Kathy!

Joyce, well it was. I read up on them and gave it a shot. Thank you for stopping by and for your kind comments! ♥
DeleteGreat haiku. You said it all in just a few words. I love dandelions, too, but I never grew up so I am still in the youth group. Heheh!
ReplyDeleteWritercat59. I think you and I were cut from the same mold. LOL Thank you for stopping by and for your kind comments! ♥
DeleteGreat job on the haiku and you captured it perfectly!
ReplyDeleteJoJo, thank you!! I am so pleased you liked it! Thank you for stopping in and for your kind comments! ♥
DeleteDandelion Soup is yummy! The greens are pretty far along on the bitterness scale, but with a little sauteed garlic and onion and a splash of sweet (honey, agave, brown sugar) they are delicious.
ReplyDeleteAudrey, I have never had it. I will have to take your word for it. Thanks for stopping in and for your kind comments! ♥
DeleteThat is one pretty Haiku :)
ReplyDeleteThis is my first attempt at a Haiku too, and you have done a good job of it :)

Deletepic and words go hand in hand Kathy :)
ReplyDeletegood one
Afshan, so pleased you liked it! Thank you for stopping in and for your kind comments!
DeleteThat's a wonderful first attempt! Shunned by man..because it's considered a week, right?! I always loved the carpet of yellow though!!
ReplyDeleteRoshni, they are considered a weed and people seem so intent of killing them and ridding their yards of them. Sometimes I feel like millions of yellow flowers are more pretty, but who am I? I feel the same way you do about them. Thank you for stopping by and for your kind comments!
DeleteLove your photo! So clear and crisp. That is a great Haiku! I love poetry, but can't write it, so I love to enjoy poems that others write! Thanks for the visit and the birthday wishes!! Made my day.
ReplyDeleteWinnie, I am thrilled you enjoyed it. Makes me want to write more of them! LOL Thank you for stopping by and for your kind comments!
DeleteWhat a lovely haiku on dandelions. Why are they considered weeds? They are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteCynthia, I agree. They are something that no one plants they just grow because. Not sure why the are considered weeds, maybe because they multiply. Thank you for stopping by and for your kind comments!
DeleteLove the imagery with the carpet of yellow. I wonder why we shun them?
ReplyDeleteDropping by from the haiku prompt.
Suzy, probably because they are considered weeds but even in their seeded forms I find them pretty. Thank you for stopping by and for your kind comments!
DeleteThat was subliminal Kathy.. Wow!
ReplyDeleteMe, I am so pleased you enjoyed it. Thank you for stopping by and for your kind comments! ♥
