It is Tuesday and time for Tuesday Tunes! It is also Day 2 of the Ultimate Blogging Challenge and of NaBloPoMo. Guess who is still standing here today writing away? Me, that's who. I really wondered about my sanity when I signed up for all of this. Let's face it, I haven't posted a lot this summer. Well folks that is about to change!! It is time for this little girl to $hit and get off the pot and blog my happy ass off.
Since it is summer the kids and I are on what I call "Summer Time". We sleep in and stay up late. I have never been so thankful for the camper parked outside my house. It is my little get away from the world, my oasis, and my play house. The kids and I have been camping out about every night. We get ready for bed and head on out to the camper with the dogs. Then the fun begins. We play Skip Bo and Rainbow Jumbling Towers which is similar to Jenga. I have been knitting socks on a sock loom all summer so I bring that, my daughter brings the afghan she is frantically crocheting for the 4H fair and my son brings the Nintendo DS. We bring snacks and drinks.
The absolute worst thing, and there is only one, is that since I am tiptoeing around menopause, or mental-
pause as I would like to call it, I have to pee constantly. I wake up every couple hours having to pee so bad NOW. When you are in the camper that means you have to slip on some shoes and dash out into the night, into the house, and down the hall, and dive onto the toilet before you pee down your leg. Get a visual of me racing to the bathroom with my legs clenched together in a virginal strong hold to keep from peeing myself at 3 AM and you have a good picture of what I am going through. Honestly I think one of those nasty infections may be setting in. Happy flipping holiday to me. I will be chugging cranberry juice as I look for fireworks to light up the sky and race for the toilet.
So it seems the theme of the day is 3 AM by Matchbox Twenty, a 90's rock band. I love this song and since I see a lot of 3 AM up carousing at all hours it is my tune for the day! So crank those computer speakers and rock along with me!! Have an amazing Tuesday!

Are you camping out b/c there's a/c in there? I hear ya on the peeing thing. I am known to intentionally dehydrate myself if I have to be traveling.
ReplyDeleteJoJo, no we sleep out here in the camper for the hell of it. It is one of the fun things about summer. Just head out there with the dogs and kids, hang out, play games, read, knit, and listen to music. It is like being someplace else without ever having to leave home and I love it!!! Best part is it doesn't cost a dime. About the peeing thing, it would be so nice to be a dude and just hang it out the door and pee into the night. Unfortunately with lady parts there is a little more involved. I can just me trying to squat to pee and falling over into my own puddle with my neighbors watching from there windows! LMAO!!! Thank you for stopping in and for your kind comments.
DeleteCamping and having to pee in the middle of the night ~ check ~ waking up nightly since mentalpause set in ~ check ~ The best part is the fun and the memories you are making ~ Hey Mom, remember when we camped outside of our own house? Hey Mom, remember that 4H project ...
ReplyDeleteJudi, yes and the memories are priceless! Thank you for stopping in and for your sweet comments!
DeleteYou're hilarious. At 47, I know the feeling - it's not pleasant! :)
ReplyDeleteCorinne, you can say that again!! I complained to my doctor about not being able to sleep through the night and he just laughed at me and told me...welcome to menopause! Say WHAT!! There is no way in hell I am that OLD. Then I realized that I was. Crap!!! LOL Thank you for stopping in and I am so pleased you enjoyed it and feel especially blessed by your sweet comments!
DeleteLove the idea of sleeping out in the van and just having a camping time, I keep threatening to get a tent and sleep out in the garden just for fun. x
ReplyDeleteSarah, you should do it!! Why not? You only live once. Live the dream and check off that bucket list. Thank you for stopping in and for your kind comments!
DeleteWish I had a camper! Sounds so fun! I used to car camp with the late hubby and LOVED it. Loved escaping even if it was local. Hubby doesn't want to try it at all, can't convince him. I am chuckling at the 3 am potty call. I had that going on for awhile and it was annoying to stay the least. I am up for work at 4:20 am, so the break in the sleep killed me. I am getting better, but some days it still happens. No late night tea for me anymore. The flashes are worse for me. I can't ever get "cool". So many say they get hot and then chilled after, but I am just hot. Hubby is in fear of touching that ac! ha ha..
ReplyDeleteWinnie, I haven't actually had the "flashes" yet just the insane runs to the toilet to pee!! I am waiting for those float like a butterfly sweat like a pig moments and not looking forward to those one bit. Already been hit with those bat shit crazy towanda moments from Fried Green Tomatoes. Not a pretty site but completely hysterical in hindsight. LOL Thank you so much for stopping by and for your kind comments!!
DeleteI need a camper!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with all your challenges. :)
Dana, I love mine!! Thanks for the good luck wishes!! Thank you for stopping in and for your kind comments!
DeleteEverything Matchbox Twenty is awesome!! Your camping sounds so fun. Making great memories Kathy with your kiddos.
ReplyDeleteA few weeks ago when i was so sick with an upper respiratory infection, i had the worst cough which made me pee all day. Sucks getting older!
Holli, it surely does. Getting older is no fun. I am making great memories with them and I hope they look back at this time fondly and think so too. Thank you for stopping in and for your kind comments.
DeleteHaven't had THAT mental pause problem yet, but I am up all night because I am hot. I keep hoping for the night sweats so I'd actually sweat so I could cool down. But nope, I am just hot. And there is your TMI on my life for the night.
ReplyDeleteAudrey, that is odd. The mysteries of getting older I guess. Thank you for stopping in and sharing your experiences. I find it fascinating since that is what I have to deal with and look forward to too. Thank you for stopping in and for your kind comments!! ♥
DeleteHaha! So that's what it's like... 'mental'-pause! :P Now I know what to expect 10-12 years down the line!
ReplyDeleteI've never been camping. Don't know if I could make it through... I'm really scared of bugs, all kinds of bugs-- the ones that crawl, as well as the ones that fly. I'd probably be up all night even without the menopause issues, because I'd be keeping them bugs out of space!
Chicky, you would be surprised. Now you would NEVER catch me in a tent. I have a travel trailer equipped with bathroom and kitchen, heat and air and stereo system.. Now THAT is my kind of camping. LOL I don't do bugs either. They get in my midst and they die plain and simple. Thank you for stopping by and for your kind comments! ♥
DeleteSleeping out in the camper with the kids sounds like a lot of fun. I've never slept in a camper.
ReplyDeleteGetting older may pose problems, but we're all going to be there sooner or later. What's heartening is that your sense of humour is on track.
Cynthia, I am so pleased you enjoyed it. I never camped until I met my husband and I simply fell in love with it. It is so much fun. Even though the camper can be parked here in the yard, once I step inside I am someplace else and I find peace. Thank you for stopping in and for your kind comments! ♥
Deletethese are the memories that the kids will cherish forever! and it's amazing that u can still laugh away all the trouble that ur going through ...
ReplyDeleteThe Little Princess, I kind of have that gift to find the funny and explain it funny when it really isn't one bit funny at all. In hindsight and in the telling it comes out funny. I just write like I talk and it works. LOL Thank you for stopping in and for your kind comments.!♥
DeleteCall me insensitive Kathy but I did have a good laugh at your expense :D :D :D... my MIL is 55 and she has this problem...when she is back from office if there is a delay in me opening up the door then you see her standing in a very uncomfortable position trying to hold the pee :(... but she has recently started doing yoga and some pelvic exercises and she says they help her tremendously...
ReplyDeleteSukupedia, no worries I would be laughing right along with you. I can't quite fathom me doing yoga or pelvic exercises. Now that would be a sight to behold. LOL That would be a whole new blog. Thank you for the tips and for stopping by and your sweet comments. ♥
DeleteCute blog! We used to do Backyard Camp-outs ever summer, and we played lots and lots of games. Tons of fun.
ReplyDeleteJust stopping by from NaBloPoMo...Keep enjoying!
lifewithlorelai. I am so pleased you stopped by and enjoyed what you found here. Thank you for stopping by and for your kind comments! ♥
DeleteI remember as a child, we had a tent set up in the backyard, that came down when it was time to set it up at Yosemite National Park for our yearly camping trip. We slept in that tent EVERY SINGLE NIGHT during the summer. I remember those days very fondly.
ReplyDeleteAs to the other problem, well, THAT is a manifestation I haven't experienced; I do have the traditional personal summers that were useful during the winter but are now excruciating during everyone else's summer. Maybe it's one of the advantages of being older than normal?
I really enjoyed your blog. Thanks!
Mary, I am so pleased you enjoyed my blog. You must have millions of awesome memories with that tent!!! Thank you for stopping by and for your kind comments! ♥
