The Rhythm of the Marketplace

100 Words on Saturday - Write Tribe

The marketplace was bustling today.  I had a monstrous list of things I wanted.  My little boy looks forward to market days with so much to see and do!  Still after traipsing through the stalls and waiting in endless lines, he becomes restless.

While waiting at the bakers he became fascinated with the metal wastebasket reserved for the wrappings that accompany the samples.  He stood drumming happily on the lid a musical rhythm to the amusement of those surrounding us.   With him occupied, I busied myself filling my basket and purchasing an assortment of fresh-baked breads for the upcoming week.

This is a fictional tale in response to the picture prompt for the  Write Tribe 100 Words on Saturday writing prompt.  A special thank you to Vidya Sury for providing the picture for today's prompt.

    1. Richa, I hate taking my kids grocery shopping with me but I don't have much choice. It would be so nice if they could find something to occupy themselves besides bickering. UGH. LOL Slowly, they are learning to act and that I will not put up with their shenanigans! LOL Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comments! ♥

  9. I think in a perfect world it would be 'to the amusement' of the other shoppers. But maybe it's b/c I'm not a parent that I would be more annoyed than amused by a kid banging on a metal lid. Cute story though!

    1. jannatwrites, isn't that the truth? We as parents can spend hundreds of dollars on toys for our kids and they have more fun playing with trash or banging on a trash can! LOL Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comments. ♥
