While I still cook things my children love and will eat, I have followed my diet to the letter. Today I went and bought groceries and realized how my groceries have transformed from a cart full of potatoes, burgers, pizza, and pop to a cart full of fresh vegetables, fruits, and lean meats. It makes me feel good that I am doing everything I can to be as healthy as I can and prolong my life in the process until next time when I give you another glimpse into the life of a trucker's wife.

First let me say that dinner sounds wonderful and very much like what we eat around here regularly. Second that's a lot of weight loss! Good for you!
ReplyDeleteThird I hope you're also trying to get the kids to eat like you're now eating because, it's not easy, but in the long run, they will be so much healthier, too! I know that's a big job...changing kids eating habits.
I am so very proud of you.
Jo, so far so good. Thank you for stopping by to read and for your kind comments! ♥
DeleteCongrats on the loss! I need to get on a regime. I do it for awhile and then ....ugh. Your dinner looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteWinnie, thank you. I have lost 3 more pounds since I wrote this. Now I am at 172 lbs. Which is 26 lb total weight loss. YAY Thank you for stopping by to read and for your comments! ♥
DeleteWow congrats on your big weight loss. Hypertension is a scary thing, you are for sure going in the right direction to be free from it. Best of luck to you and your family. Angelia at http://dixielandcountry.com
ReplyDeleteTrauma, it is scary. Thank you for stopping by to read and for your kind comments! ♥
DeleteI try to keep to the lean too, though it's tough with the kids. But I do only allow them lean turkey hotdogs etc. Brussel sprouts are awesome sauted with garlic!
ReplyDeleteI have got to try Brussel sprouts sauted with garlic!! That sounds super good. Thank you for stopping by to read and for your kind comments! ♥
DeleteCongratulations! It's sounds similar to what I'm doing. Since April, I've been following a low carb diet and have lost 30 pounds. Hang in there, but also make it a life style change and not just a diet.

Joyce, that is amazing! Way to go Joyce!! Over the past weeks it has become a life style change without even trying. Seems everyone else is picking up on it too. Thank you for stopping by to read and for your kind comments! ♥
DeleteWonderful!!! I'm so happy to hear that you have lost so much weight already. Good job!!! I'm home now, so time to put away my excuses. I did lose 6 pounds on my trip, but I'm going to find those pounds if I don't knock off the candy!
ReplyDeleteI'm proud of you!!!
Darlene, it is good to have you back safe and sound. I discovered this morning that I had lost an additional 3 pounds. YAY! I miss candy! :D Thank you for stopping by to read and for your kind comments! ♥
DeleteGood for you! I love veggies. About 6 or 8 months ago I lowered the carbs for the family. I quit eating wheat. The rest just cut down and it has helped a lot. We feel better. My husband is on BP meds too.
ReplyDeleteRuth, that is wonderful!! I have found that I get more to eat this way and am full. Thank you for stopping by to read and for your kind comments! ♥
DeleteWay to go, Kathy! Good for you!
ReplyDeleteWeissdorn, thank you for stopping by and for your kind comments! ♥
DeleteCongrats on your weight loss! That's so great!!!! :D Sadly I have been unable to follow the diet sheet you sent me....it's just not realistic right now. lol Although I do eat a lot of veggies and whole grains as much as possible. And also, my sweetie associates weight loss with cheating, b/c his ex wife had gone on a weight loss kick right before she left him for someone else. So unless a doctor tells me to do it, I try to just maintain and neither gain or lose.
ReplyDeleteJoJo, I don't blame you one bit. I can see where Russell would flip out if you went on a diet. Thank you for stopping by to read and for your kind comments! ♥
DeleteGood for you, Kathy - what a great accomplishment! So happy for you - keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteDawn, thank you!!! Thank you for stopping by to read and for your kind comments! ♥
