Haiku: Rain!

For the 12th day of NaBloPoMo and the UltimateBlogging Challenge I am stepping out of my comfort zone again and attempting another haiku for the Write Tribe’s Wednesday Prompt.  I didn't realize that the challenge was to write about rain!!!  Sorry about that folks, let's give this another spin with my head out of my ass this time!!

Bright sunshine retreats

Purple clouds envelop me

The first raindrop falls

  1. I love it....but doesn't the second line have to have 7 syllables? I only count 6.

    1. Linda, writing whatever comes into your head works good too and is what I do most of the time...but if there is a writing challenge that intrigues me...I give it a whirl. Thank you for stopping by and for your kind comments! ♥

I seem to keep coming back to your blog thanks to UBC and Write Tribe. I agree with Linda about your blog title. So why giggling? Do you giggle a lot??

    1. Afshan, it is amazing that so many people can write about rain and each one be as different and individual as the people who wrote them. This is only the second haiku I have ever written in my life and I have found how short, sweet, and to the point they are. At the same time they are able to tell so much. Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comments!

  8. This style of writing is one I've never heard of, well 'cause I'm surely no writer ~ but it is fascinating, to be able to capture so much in so few words obviously takes great talent! The Dandelion Haiku is, well ... a.m.a.z.i.n.g!! Thanks for enlightening me Kathy ~ I am enjoying your posts greatly ~ Judi

    1. Judi, I didn't know much about haiku's myself until I read the educational blog at Write Tribe which did such an awesome job of explaining them and the form used. I am so pleased you enjoyed my haiku as much as I enjoyed creating it. Thank you for stopping in and for your kind comments!

  9. Very nice...I've tried haikus before, but I seem to have an easier go of it with longer poetry. Not good at any of it though. :(

    1. Terri, may be you are too hard on yourself!! I think the haiku's are kind of fun but the longer poem seems a bit scary to even attempt! LOL Thank you for stopping by and for your kind comments!

    1. The little princess, I had too until I captured this purple sky before a storm with my camera. It was so breath taking that I could not resist rushing outside with my camera. Purple seems so much more mysterious or romantic...just leads so much more to the imagination than grey or black. Thank you so much for stopping in and for your kind comments!
