Wordless Wednesday with Words!

It is day 3 of the Ultimate Blog Challenge and NaBloPoMo…and I am still in the game!  It is also Wordless Wednesday, so it only seems fitting to share some pictures to mark the day even though technically it isn't really wordless if I have a running gab fest throughout.

The best thing I got for Christmas last year was a new camera and I have had a blast taking pictures of this, that, and everything!!  I am really looking forward to trying to capture some fireworks with it!  It can’t be any more difficult than trying to stand on my head taking a picture of the moon without moving the camera!!  Thank God and sunny Jesus I don’t drink because I would have surely fallen on my happy ass in the process.  Nearly did as it was.

I have also been pretty obsessed with photographing flowers lately.  While at the library I noticed this little jewel outside their front door.  Mind you, I have no earthly idea what it is called but thought it looked extremely cool.  So I got in my blazer “Bessie” and raced home to grab my camera so I could capture this floral wonder in all its glory!

Lately I have been using the “food” setting with very happy results.  The bonus of taking pictures of food is once you are done snapping you can gobble it up.  You can be assured those blueberries didn’t last much longer after this picture was taken.

Here is another real winner of a picture.  I had taken the kids to see “Silly Safari’s” at the public library recently and this is a picture of my 7 year son.  I love this photo because of the unbridled joy captured on his face in anticipation of petting a tarantula.  I mean look at him!!  Better him than me!   I had absolutely no desire to come anywhere near that big hairy many legged thing let alone touch it!    I probably would have soaked my panties and had a conniption at the mere thought of touching that creature.  Give me a soft cute bunny or a big bad ass owl any day and I will fight for a chance to be first in line.

So there you go, wordless Wednesday which according to the laws of the Ultimate Blogging Challenge is filled with clever commentary.  Two birds with one stone and all that jazz!!  Happy hump day to each and every one of you!!

  8. That has to be the most wordy wordless Wednesday I've ever seen :-) That genuine unforced and uncovered joy that only kids faces can ever truly show always makes a great photo - whatever they are holding!

  11. Kathy, I love your gabfests. Please make sure you never go truly wordless on us.

I am glad to see you having so much fun with your new camera. The look on your son's face is priceless. There is something about boys and creepy-crawlies. I have a 2yo son and he behaves like that too.
and I agree with you, better them than us. :)

  14. I agree with Writercat59. As Ernst Haas has said - "The camera doesn't make a bit of difference. All of them can record what you are seeing. But, you have to SEE." And I love the way you saw those berries! :P LOL!

    1. Chicky, I never really thought about it that way before. The person taking the photos has to pick their shot while the camera does the rest of the work. Thank you for stopping by and for your kind comments!
